Women's Clinic Contraception Class

Please read the following carefully.

Any Virginia Tech student who wishes to obtain a PRESCRIPTION method of contraception (regardless of the reason they want the method) from Schiffert Health Center must first complete one of the following options.  SHC does not grant exemptions from this requirement.  There are no class requirements for obtaining OVER-THE-COUNTER methods of contraception from our pharmacy.

If You Are ... Then Your Options Are ...
A Woman With a Current Prescription from a Non-SHC Provider -  If you have a current prescription from an "outside" provider 1) have your "health care provider" or pharmacist call our pharmacy and transfer your prescription to our pharmacy
A Woman With a Current Prescription - If you are currently on oral contraceptives or Depo-Provera, your prescription is "running out," and you want SHC to write you a new prescription
1) you can complete our ON-LINE CLASS or
2) you can schedule an 'In-person' Consult
A Woman currently NOT on Prescription Contraceptives
1) you can complete our ON-LINE CLASS or
2) you can schedule a 'In-person' Consult

To Schedule an 'In-person' Consult

If you would prefer to take this class in-person, please call 231-3070, to make an appointment with a health educator. This in-person reproductive health & contraceptive options appointment can be made for an individual, couple, or small group and will cover the same information as the on-line class. This appointment will take about the same amount of time as the on-line class.
