In the event of a medical emergency or life-threatening condition, call 911. If you need non-emergency medical care after hours, call the Schiffert Health Center Medical Advice Line at 540-231-6444. They will direct you in self-care, resources for community clinics and/or to the local hospital emergency room.

All local area hospitals provide emergency medical care. The Virginia Tech Rescue Squad and the Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad provide emergency services to the campus and local community. All expenses and charges for medical care received outside of Schiffert Health Center are the student’s responsibility and not covered by the student health fee.
